So if you've been on the knot for a while you know my story was full of UPS and DOWNS in terms of finding a perfect location. My idea of a wedding and the idea of my then future-mother-in law was completely opposite. I wanted a very small casual beach wedding and reception at lanikuhonua and she wanted a stiffy invite the whole world wedding at a fancy hotel. After many arguments, tears, and yelling we finally compromised and decided to do an outdoor wedding ceremony with a reception at halekulani. It couldn't have been more perfect =). Everything happens for a reason!

Ceremony-Hawaii Kai Private Estate

I looked at many places for an outdoor location. My dream was lanikuhonua but since that wasn't an option I looked at private estates to get married at. Finally FI had a brilliant idea to get married at his uncles house which is in hawaii kai right on the water. It was the perfectest location and we are so lucky to have been able to get married there.

Reception-Halekulani

Amazing location. Beautiful and wonderful. There service is top notch and the reason why they are the only 5 star hotel in oahu. They were one of the cheapest buffets we found our of all the hotels and the yummiest~!! everyone raved about the food about how great it was and how they had never been to a wedding with so much selection. I worked with Joel the catering director and he was great. Very prompt with all the emails. We had a taste test before the wedding. We also received one bridal suite and one extra room (for our bridal party) free of charge.  They give free valet parking to all guests and vendors. We got complimentary champagne and strawberries. Our wedding cake was free and we also had a dessert bar included with our buffet. The day after the wedding we had free breakfast buffet which was the most amazing breakfast ever! Every staff member there is always so respectful and always happy to see you! I really have nothing bad to say about halekulani.
